c. Have applied for unemployment benefits at the employment service center.

d. Haven’t found a job after 15 days from the date of submission of unemployment insurance benefits, except for the following cases:

  • Perform military service and police duty;
  • Studying for a term of full 12 months or more;
  • To abide by the decision to apply the measure of sending to reformatory, compulsory education institution, compulsory detoxification establishment;
  • Being detained; serve prison sentences;
  • Going abroad to settle down; go to work abroad under contract;
  • Died.

Note: Within 03 months from the date of termination of the labor contract, the employee submits the application for unemployment benefit at the employment service center.

6. Guidance on procedures for enjoying unemployment insurance

When the employee has completed the application for unemployment benefits, the employee shall take the following steps:

Step 1: Submit your application to the Job Referral Center

Within 03 months from the date of termination of the labor contract or working contract, the employee who has not had a job and wishes to receive unemployment benefits must directly submit 01 dossier to the Job Referral Center. (TTGTVL) in the locality where the employee wants to receive unemployment benefits.

Step 2. Time limit for application processing

Within 15 days from the date of submission of the application, if the employee has not found a job, he or she should go to the Employment Referral Center (TTGTVL) to confirm the settlement of the application for unemployment benefits.

Within 20 working days from the date of submission of the application, the Labor Department shall issue a decision approving the payment of unemployment benefits, enclosed with the social insurance book with confirmation of payment to the employee.

In case the employee is not entitled to unemployment benefits, the labor center must notify in writing and clearly state the reason.

Step 3. Receive unemployment benefits payment
